What do I do if I suspect I have Dysphagia/Swallowing Difficulties?
If you suspect that you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms of swallowing difficulties you should book an appointment with your GP.
What is Under Nourishment?
Under nourishment (also known as malnutrition) is a growing problem in our community, and is where your body is not getting enough calories and/or nutrients. You can find out more here.

For over 25 years, Wiltshire Farm Foods has been delivering frozen ready meals for our customers to enjoy whenever they like. There are over 300 tasty dishes, including over 90 Specialist Nutrition dishes, hand-delivered by local drivers who are reliable, friendly and here to help our customers.
What is the relationship between Specialist Nutrition and Wiltshire Farm Foods?
Specialist Nutrition is a name Wiltshire Farm Foods has given to our innovative meals for those with Swallowing Difficulties or Under Nourishment. Specialist Nutrition includes our Softer Foods and Mini Meals Extra range.

How do I search for meals that fit within my dietary requirements?
If you have dietary requirements you can use our diet search on our main website.
What size are the meals?
Our main range of meals come in three different sizes which you can look at here. Our Purée meals come in two sizes, Classic and Petite. Our Pre-Mashed and Fork Mashable meals come in main meal size only, and Mini Meals Extra are our smaller portion meals that are still packed with calories and protein.
When do you deliver in my area?

How long is the wait between order and delivery?
The majority of our local delivery outlets have a 1-2 day lead time. You will be able to select a delivery date during the checkout process.
How do your meals arrive?
Our meals are delivered frozen by our friendly delivery drivers.
How are the meals stored?
Our meals arrive frozen to your door and need to be kept frozen. Our friendly drivers will even put them away in your freezer for you.
Do the meals need to be defrosted before cooking?
Our meals are designed to be cooked from frozen, all you need to do is take them from the freezer and put them straight into the oven or microwave.
Can items be microwaved/oven cooked?
Most of our dishes can be cooked in either the oven or microwave. Some items are oven cook only and this is stated on our website and on the labels. It's important to note that our Purée dishes, when cooking in the microwave, must be cooked on half power.
Is there a minimum order/delivery charge?
We do not have a delivery charge, but depending on the delivery address, a minimum order value may apply. Once you have entered your delivery postcode into the ‘Find Delivery Days’ box on the homepage you’ll be able to see if a minimum order value applies.
Do you supply to Care Homes and hospitals?
Our Specialist Nutrition meals can be supplied to care homes and hospitals via our parent company apetito.
Are the meals suitable for children?
Our meals have been developed with adults in mind. Best thing to do would be to discuss with your Dietitian to understand what's best for your child.
How much are the meals?
Our Specialist Nutrition meals start from £3.15 and desserts from £1.15.
What are the national descriptors?
The National descriptors detail the types and textures of foods needed by individuals who have dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) and who are at risk of choking or aspiration (food or liquid going into their airway). The descriptors provide standard terminology to be used by all health professionals and food providers when communicating about an individual’s requirements for a texture modified diet. The food textures are:
C = Thick Purée Dysphagia Diet
D = Pre-mashed Dysphagia Diet
E = Fork Mashable Dysphagia Diet
