Treating Under Nourishment
If your GP diagnoses you with under nourishment (malnutrition) you may be given advice to follow at home or you may be referred to a Dietitian for further support. In extreme cases, a stay in hospital may be required.
Depending on the severity of under nourishment, it may be treated in the following ways.
• Changes to your diet and/or supplements – read more about managing under nourishment at home here
• For those with mobility issues a home care visitor may be recommended, who can aid in preparing meals
• Meal at home service, such as the delivery service Wiltshire Farm Foods offer, to make sure you have convenient, delicious meals in the freezer, whenever you need them
You can find more information and support on the NHS website.
